
On October 14th, 2023, volunteers from the Associated Student’s Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Butte County in Paradise, California. They spent 3 hours at the site, helping install plywood cladding on the building’s exterior and installing structural brackets on its frame.

On April 13th, 2024, Adventure Outings, a program of the Associated Students of CSU Chico, took students on a trip to the North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve, a nature preserve 15 miles southwest of Chico. There, students hiked 4 miles round-trip to see an ocean of wildflowers, two incredible waterfalls, and a stunning vista.

Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), a program of the Associated Students, provides biweekly tutoring to local K-12 students. The program is designed to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for students while simultaneously giving Chico State students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children while earning class units.

The Glowa-POOL-ooza, hosted in the pool of the Associated Student’s Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC), gave students the chance to try a new way to do yoga: on a floating paddleboard! In an hour-long session, a WREC yoga instructor guided them through a series of poses that stretched their muscles, tested their balance, and expanded their mindfulness.

Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), a program of the Associated Students, hosted a Weekend Wildcat event at Esplanade House, a transitional housing facility, on April 27th, 2024. The Weekend Wildcat events give students of Chico State the opportunity to spend a single day volunteering in their community. During this event, students helped by weeding and cleaning the facility’s community garden, mowing lawns, and repairing a broken fence gate.
